whats this marine plant?

I have this unigue looking marine plant growing in my reef, it came in on a piece of marshal island rock, there was nothing on it at first then like 3 months later I have this big head of red lettuce looking plant growing, its big and its red.lol i was going to destroy it because of its large size, but this thing is way to cool, anyone know what it is??

a head, as in like all balled up??, if that is the case, i don't know, but sargassum looks leafy and is reddish or brown in color

yea ok, like this thing is not literally balled, but the leaves are lettuce shaped, I notice the tang won't touch it either and it's perhaps more in the area of maroon than reddish brown, but you think it may be sargassum??

sounds like it very well could be, especially if it is a fairly new tank, if you click on the above link(coloerd words) in my previous post, there will be some pics and info, i think sargassum is way down the page, check it out
