whats up with parrotfish

who would buy a parrot fish from anywhere a place by my house sells theres for 120 dollars my friend had one but after a few months it died whats up with parrotfish
 
For starters they get big. VERY big. Also from what I have heard they prefer biting chunks off of live rock and then eating the algae on it, instead of just eating plain macroalgae or other greens. It could probobly get very expensive when the fish is crushing your live rock into sand.

Yup, they are tough to handle in terms of feeding. We used to make big plaster "corals" with spirulina and other additives to help get them feeding. Even then, success wasn't great. They are a fish that don't belong in captivity, IMO.
