What's wrong with my overflow?

I have a Tidepool SOS overflow. I've had the set-up for over a year now. Recently I can't seem to adjust the flow. The part where it says "keep water level here". I can't seem to keep it there. Now the level is flucuating from max flow (going into the extra overflow tube) to minumum flow. It keeps going up and down, up and down.... Please help. I've cleaned out all the parts so I don't think there is anything clogged. Oh, one more thing, during the flow flucuation, the tube which you use to adjust flow spits out water. Any Ideas???

Are you sure it's an overflow problem,an not your pump???If the overflow was causing this and the pump was fine, you would surly have a flood by now.An overflow will only syphon water out of the tank as fast as the pump is returning it..So if the pump is fluctuating,it will appear as if the overflow is malfunctioning.
