I finally switched from cc to ls about a month ago.everything went smooth.Had a spike in nitrates and nitrites.here are my readings now salinity 1.024 ph 8.0 ammon 0 alk normal nitirite 0.2 and nitrate 20. i have seen no life in the sand and my 2 n's have not lowered yet.I did put 3 bags of the old cc in nylons and they are still in the tank.i switch them to various places in the tank.my fish are all eating well and they are doing great.someone before sugested to do a water change and then another person said to ride it out a few more days.am i not doing something right here?maybe i got some expired ls? the sand was used before the expiration date. I know the ph is low,but should i still do a water change? it is a fo tank. thanx for the help.:help:

I would stop feeding for a couple of days until the nitrIte goes down to 0.0.
nitrAtes will require plant life. You could either add some of let the algae increase.
I have seen ph that low but especially if it drops lower, that is a sign of carbon dioxide build up. Again a sign you need more plant life. And if true could be very detrimental to your fish.
