When do you change bio balls

I Bought this 75 gallon tank.And was wonderin when i should change the bio balls.
And was also wondering did i damage it when i rinsed it with water straight out of hose pipe. Thanks

I could be wrong but I think that you don't have to change them. You just rinse them off when you want to clean them

NOPE,You don't have to change them.Just clean them if they get REALLY dirty.But if you install a prefilter,that will virtually iliminate the need for cleaning them...In the future you should use saltwater to rince them off.Fresh water will kill the bacteria that is living on them...
