Does anyone know when my damn decorator crab will decide to stop trimming my Xenia and wearing it?

I have never owned a decorator crab, however....How can a critter that uses coral to decorate itself be reef safe? It is never enough, they redo themselves constantly.

The one in my 125 uses old hermit shells and rubble rock to decorate itself-this guy just loves the xenia. I wouldnt mind if I knew if the Xenia would survive on it, but it hides during the day so the xenia doesnt get direct lighting on it. Il try to get a picture but he only comes out at night and my camera doesnt take good pics in the dark

Well there not the best but heres a few. The Xenia's all over his back legs. I wouldnt call my tank a "reef" tank, just got a great deal on some Xenia. He may get relocated to the sump/refugium.

These are definately not reef safe. I ordered a bunch of crabs to use as octopus food, they were simply labeled assorted crabs. Several of the crabs were decorators. I keep many softies with my octopus and this one little guy went after my xenia. This one also got some zoas and chunks of my leathers. I was very pleased when this one got eaten, pay back.
Here is a photo of him covered with xenia.
