when is my LR cured?

I orderd 100lbs of "pre cure" LR, but there was no way I was putting it in the tank right away. I got it on thursday the 6th I believe. I put it in two separate rubbermaid buckets each with a powerhead and a heater. Ive changed 100% of the water once, and the water is brown again. The whole house reaks. Any idea when the rock will be ready for the tank? I plan to change the water again tonight.

When there is no more smell to the rock about 2 weeks.

awesome thanks. would you assume then that this rock really wasnt "pre cured" as it was claimed to be?

The rock was probly cured when you bought it . When it was shipped from the disrtibutor or the place you bought it from to you. The living things on the rock died back. The living things on the rock spounges, corals died back into the rock where their was still moisture to keep them alive. After a month or two the things sponges , corals will start to grow back out. Once all the die off is gone and the smell is gone the rock is fulley cured again and can be put into you main tank. Hope this helped. Tak.
