When to put sand in tank.........

Since an RO unit only makes 75GPD, should I wait until the tank is full of water to put in the LS?? Or can I wait until there is just enough water in the tank and then put in the sand.....hopefully cutting down on the cloudiness??

you can put the LS in whenever you want .. no problem.

one trick to cut down on cloudiness is to cut an X across the TOP of the LS bag. then gently place the whole bag at the bottom of the tank, now gently roll the bag over and lift the plastic off and up.

I strongly recommend (triple) rinsing the sand before placing it in the tank! While this won't remove all of the stuff that makes new sand installations cloudy, it will go a long way towards reducing cloudiness in your tank.

If it comes dry, you rinse it a few times.. If it comes wet you dont have to rinse, but you may (once or twiice).

Don't worry about the cloudiness. Once you turn on the filter the suspended particles will be removed. Are you planning on adding live rock? If so then wait until you have the rock. Place the rock first then add the sand around it.

It's all dry rock that I am adding now. I will transfer the LR I have in my 55 once the 180 cycles.

Even better! Add the base rock, then add the sand around it. I makes things more stable. Digging critters can cause a rock slide if the rock is n to of the sand. Get your base sturdy, jiggle it, then add the sand around it.
