when to start adding to refugium

i just started my 30 gallon reef and i have it running with a 10 gallon tank that is going to be a refugium. i want to konw when im supposed to start adding macro algea to it? i just put in the LR 2 days ago, and my cycl is just starting. im also putting in a few lbs of live sand. so should i put the macro in now, or wait till the tanks done cycling?

You will be fine to put it in now.

shouldn't really matter much things like nitrites and ammonia shouldn't hurt the macro any, thats what plant food is made from.
