When to turn on skimmer?

After testing today, my cycle appears to be complete. So far, I haven't turned on my protein skimmer. Should I start it up now, wait to I get my cleanup crew this weekend, or when I start getting fish in a few weeks? Thanks

Run it. You will be surprised, still pulls out crud.

I'd go ahead and turn it on as well. If it starts pulling skimmate then its that much more junk that has been removed from your tank.

i would run it now. you will want it to be functioning properly when you add fish. this will require some dinking around with settings, and all skimmers have a break-in period. this is because the plastics used in manufacturing are coated with something that takes a little while to wear off.
