when you feed your preditors....

Every aggressive fish has a different personality. I thought it would be cool to share some and hear some of your guys' fishes behaviors durring feeding.
My queen angel faces the surface of the water and eats right out of my had, and ive only had it for a week. that is unless the puffer bites my fingers before the queen gets some food.
My porc puffer actually spits water up and out of the tank and onto the carpet when i lift the glass top to feed him. The first time he did it I got a splash of saltwater in my eye. everyone knows how that feels. He has more personality than anyother fish I've ever kept.
My stars and stripes puffer, is kindof a douchebag at times. He has come to realize that i stick food into my eels home to feed my eel. Therefore he just hides out down by the eel and everytime i stick food down there for the eel the stinkin dogface eats it.
Anyways just thought it was a neat topic and would like to hear some of your experiences.

my eel and my bamboo often fight over the food....like tunight the bamboo chased the eel around the tank for a guppy untill the eel went into the coral and ate it. then i fed the shark. the shark has even bit me thinking i was stealing his food wene i picked it off the sand bottom. oh and i was bit by my eel today also.

Feeding time for my cali ray is always entertaining. He comes about halfway out of the water and rests on the edge of the tank, then spits water and flys around the water spraying water everywhere. He swims over my hand and eats from my hand.

I have groupers, they just about jump out of the tank when its feeding time.....The suction noise they make when eating krill floating on the top of the water makes me jump even to this day....Its loud as heck.

My bonnethead will circle the food and can perform some amazing manuvers in mid water to reach a piece of sinking food. I am especially fond of the stereo-typical head shaking he does when he gets a piece that just a little too big for him to swallow.:hilarious

Man, I Love My Tank!!
I come home from work and feed the Dragon Wrasse (He's always happy to see me )
Eat supper myself and then check out whats "new" on SWF...
I'm sitting here reading "Aggressive Setups" and look over at my tank...The Lions out and on the Prowl...the Shark is doing slow laps in front of the tank....IT'S Feeding Frenzy Time!!!
I got a small bowl of shrimp, krill and squid soaking in Selcon and multi-vit in the fridge...I bring it out and the Lion sees me coming...
I start tossing chunks into the tank...He Strikes...again and again as the chunks hit the water... The Shark is going Nuts...He can smell the prey, but nothings reaching his level yet...
He swims franticaly across the sand bed and finaly reaches for the sky...He must get his before the Lion eats it all...
The Arrow Crab too sences something in the air (water)...reaching for a small piece of squid as it floats by with an irradecent blue claw, he reaches out and scores a meal for himself...bringing it quickly to his mouth he scurrys to 'his" corner to enjoy his newfound treasure...
The Shark now, almost in desperation, lunges in mid tank grasping the meaty treat in his jaws of death, he plunges to the depths (bouncing off the bottom) Gulp...Gulp...he swallows it whole and shakes like a puppy dog that was given a table scrap.
The Tangs don't recognize these "chunks" as nurishment for their lusts but are somehow cought up in in the excitement and frenzy... looking for their Flakes...A drop or two of garlic on a pinch of Heaven and they too join the fray...
The Shrimp too, his long antenna flowing in the current, probes ever so gently...as a flake slowly floats by...he catches it, ever so daintaly and hugs it to his mouth as he backs into his crib to savor "his" victory....
I stand in awe...and reflect to myself..."I need another Beer"

sweet posts so far.

My humu will tilt his mouth so its at the surface of the water and his eyes just about break the surface of the water. He will devour anything but squid that is thrown in the tank, the niger gets anything that he doesn't notice right away. When my snowflake is hungry he swims to the top with the other fish. This is when i feed him most often becasue its so easy. I just drop a piece near his face or put a piece of a feeding stick. After most of the feeding is done i will cut up some squid for the niger just to make sure he gets enough.
