When you say goodnight to your fishies

When you tell your fish its their bedtime, do you turn off all the lights, or do you keep on a low level light?
Does it affect the fish at all to have it completely dark?

Before I got my moon light my fish would school to the the corner of the tank where my other room was giving off some light to that corner.

When my MH go off my fish start disappearing, by the time the T's go off and just the moonlights are on they are all in bed. Funny, before we had the lights on a timer my husband use to manually turn them off and when my midas saw him comeing over to turn off the t's, he would swim to his hole. He had the schedule down pretty good, but when we put the lights on timers he got caught afew times in the dark. It really confused him.

It's gradual at my house, too.
T5's go off, then (1 hr or so later) the actinics go. The moons come on immediately.
Oh, they cry and make a fuss, but one must be firm. They get to stay up a bit later, if we have company.

Addotional answer, no it is not bad to have complete dark, as long as you give them time to "power down" and find their sleeping spot.
