BRS has a big plumbing department look for
Schedule 80 Straight Barb x Female Thread They have several sizes, not semi transparent but rather gray. A hardware store like Ace might have them too. I have had little luck at Home depot or Lowes for aquarium fittings.

Apparently we were thinking alike at the same time @pegasus. I was looking at the same page just not sure if I was allowed to post the link.

Nope you don't want any metal fittings. Many metals are toxic to fish and corals. Small amounts will get into the water which will then be absorbed by your rocks.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. You never want copper in your tank.

Thanks for catching that in time, Imforbis! Actually, I don't think we're supposed to post links to other sites, but I'm an old fart that doesn't care. If it were a fish or coral, I would be reserved, but since it's a plumbing part that I haven't seen on SWF.com, I think it'll be okay. People refer to BRS all the time for various items, so I don't see the harm in giving the addy and saving someone a little time. By doing so, we might prevent someone from using brass fittings in their highly corrosive saltwater system. Just saying...
