I recently added the "grunge" to my tank. The next day or so I saw "bugs" swimming around at night. Then nothing. Could they all have died, or are they being consumed by my fish to the point where they are not visible.
where did the pods go?

after 30mins-hour after your lights go out and the room is dark take a flashlight to the tank and see what scurrys off. I did this a few nights ago and i have THOUSANDS of pods scurrying all over the tank to get out of the light. I'm about ready for that mandarin

I've tried the flashlight, I even tried it with red plastic over the lens like some people recommend. I usually do it a few hours after the light goes off. My water tests are perfect. Could the filter have gotten them all?
