Welcome to the boards Kimberly. There are thousands of aspects to a SW tank, and my first suggestion is to read as much as you can before you spend a dime, except for maybe on a book. There are numerous good books, and I particularly enjoy those written by Julian Sprung and Charles Delbleek. READ!

You can go to the homepage and click on "tank set-up" and it will give you a general run down on where to start.
Let me give you the best advice: Read all the info you can on the hobby from tank placement to lighting requirements before you spend any money. If I can save you some money it would make me to feel soooooo much better for me wasting all of my money.
