Where do you get your salt from and what kind do you use?

Was curious as to where people purchase their salt from. I checked here at saltwaterfish.com and see they don't have any for sale so I hope this is ok to talk about. I just purchased (2) Reef Crystals Salt - REEF CRYSTALS SALT 200 GALLON (BOX) off amazon for $110 shipped. LFS sells it for $59.99 plus tax so I saved about $15.
Where do you get yours from and what kind do you use??
Mods: apologize if this is not allowed.

I buy instant ocean in the 200G box for $39.99 online
Standard shipping is $11.99
I usually order with other stuff so that makes it even better....

Oceanic...pet store by the 5g bucket..$74.00, Makes 200 gallons...stays nice and dry. I never had hard clumps. I can use the empty buckets for fish only...it has saltwater fish all over it, so it is very distinct for fish only buckets.

I would be jealous, but then I remember..hurricanes, typhoons....In the end my brand is easier and cheaper to live with.
I will still be a little jealous over the goniopora however...

No mention of stores here pleaz, but online vendors can usually offer a better deal than the LFS, even with added expense of shipping heavy freight.

Sorry bout that. Only reason I asked is because Saltwaterfish.com didn't offer it for sale.

So funny, the first night we set up our tank my wife tested the salt to see if it had any mixed drink potential. LOL Oh yeah, I was using a crappy off-brand that was cheap, now am using instant ocean and will try reef crystals for the next bag. Don't want my tanks getting used to any kind of routine.

I don't think I've used the same brand of salt more then 3 times in a row, but on Coralife buckets at the moment (trying to collect all the fish t-shirts
).... LFS bought. Really like that they come in 3 bags in the bucket, opposed to IO/R.C just being dumped in the bucket.

that would be nice to have it in bags instead of he bucket. The first bucket I bought had a free towel in it. Wife laughed at me as I emptied the pucket into another just to find it, lol

Nothing beats the Teco bucket. You press this really easy lever and it twists off so easily. It has an O ring seal to keep the moisture out... better than my hammer method to open and close the others.
I haven't bought salt in a long time. I'm amazed at how expensive it has gotten.

One of the large online vendors did have it with a flat shipping charge of like 9.99 or 14.99 for as many buckets as you like. If you get a few people together and order like 10 buckets at a shot it's a screaming deal. It's been a few years since I ordered so I am not sure if that is still the way they do it. I had a guy send me a pallet of salt to pass around to people to try out to help him expand his customer base. Sometimes the grim reefer thing pays off
I held back a few boxes of that stuff (ocean Pure) and had really good luck with it but my supply is about gone. Guess I will find out if the shipping deal is still there when I set up the new 120.
