Where does all that water go?

I have been wondering for a while......where does all the water go that I put back into the tank when it gets low?
Obviously I know that it evaporates, but does all these gallons upon gallons of water soak into my furnishings/drywall/floor????
I havent ever noticed the house to me anymore humid than normal.
Just thought I'd get you guys to ponder upon the subject for a while.

it evaporates into the air in your home, we also run a dehumidifier in the basement, lots of precipitation in our area, basically the basement walls sweat on really humid days

In the air.
In the wintertime it is great having the tanks and the fountains in the house because I no longer need a humidifier.
At least my hobby does some good during the winter months... But since winters seem to run about five months too long in Iowa, at least the tanks being used as a humidifer look prettier than the stupid plastic cabinet POS.
In the summer though... it adds humidity to the house.

My LFS runs his AC so low it pulls it out and is a comfortable place to hang out considering he has a full wall of windows facing the south.
Of course the kids who won't buy so much as a hermit crab hang out there and make people like me go nuts though.
