I searched for a while and cannot find the thread i am looking for, i was hoping someone might have it bookmarked...
Its a fairly detailed DIY Metal Halide HQI write up about you can use halogen light sockets and wire up your own HQI ballasts/sockets/bulbs. It also covers which halogen sockets can be used for respective metal halide bulb wattages. Good pictures and everything
