Which are you?

I find the door, then park in that aisle. I never have to try to remember where I parked. No matter how far out, I'm always straight out from the exit. It doesn't matter how far I have to walk. I could use the exercise.

My mother in law.

She wanted me (I was driving) to follow people from the mall to their cars. If the car was close, wait and use their spot, if it was to far, start all over with another person.
Of course we parked a mile away. I'm not following people, that's just down right lazy and rude.
Parking far away is one of those things you tolerate when you HAFTA go shopping the day after thanksgiving.

Gaah, don't even get me started with THAT!

I drew a picture to show you where we park. We are the black car by the way.

Ah! Rookie mistake! The real
premium spots are dictated by the green arrows pointing to the yellow blocks. The spot you picked sees way too much traffic with cars coming in/out, too much risk with people talking on their cell phones, etc, you never want to park on an unprotected corner. Wide open for a nice mirror slap. If the yellow spots are taken, man car code 15.3.4 says you must park in the blue spaces, so the other guy can check your car out too. Under NO circumstances should you park directly next to someone. Even if you don't actually door ding their car, if the owner sees one he doesn't remember, you leave yourself wide open for a donkey kick to one of your doors. Of course if there are curbs/planters in the lot, this changes the game.
Or if you're just parking out there for exercise, enjoy!

I park way out of the way. My truck is WAY WAY WAY to nice to have some moron hit it or let a cart fly into it. I would kill for my truck

Early, you forgot the other option.
1. Park in the first spot you find.
2. Drive around looking for a spot.
3. Sit in your car with your blinker on while you wait for someone to unload all their stuff from their cart into their car, take their kid out of the cart and put it into the car seat, then wait while they take the cart to the cart collection area. All the while you are blocking the aisle so that no other cars can get by you and then you have to try and back up because you did not leave the person enough room to get out of their parking spot.
Ah. What I call a 'vulture'.

Geeze...I never realized there was so such science involved in finding a parking spot
I just park in the first one I find. I have a nice vehicle but I usually dont worry about door dings...guess its probably because I havent had the misfortune of getting one yet

My dad gets mad because i can squeeze into these tiny spaces. He says that im just asking to get hit. But hey, 95 degrees and 90% humidity killllls me.

For those who like to drive for hours looking for the closest spot, put a shark fin on the hood of your car and play JAWS theme loud with your windows down. LOL!!!
