I'm going to buy a canister filter, I've looked at 2, one is an Ehiem w/ a built in heater and the other is a AQUAEL UniMax Pro w/ built in UV sterilizer. Any one have any recomendations?

I've used a Via Aqua 650 and 750. Never had any problems with them. Simple to use and they were cheap. Just do a search online and you should be able get more info on them.

How about leakage? Is the Via Aqua 650 solid in this regard?
I have a Fluval 104 and the thing leaks so much, I keep it in a 5 gallon pail. I have replaced the o-ring seal, etc and I hate the damn thing.
If ANY of these filters listed in the above threads are not prone to leak, I'll buy any one of them. :happyfish

I just looked up the Via Aqua 650 & 750 on another site. Do you know what the recommended tank size
is for each of those???
That site just says the GPH they're rated at. I have a 75g display tank with a 20g sump.
Also....is there that much of a difference between these & Eheim Professional II 2026?? There sure is a big price difference.
Thanks!

650 - up to 70 gallons
750 - up to 150 gallons..
Are these another China knock off of German products?

I used the 650 on a 40 and then the 750 on a 75. I have no idea where they are manufactured, but like I said before I never had a problem with them. I no longer use them because I purchased a sump.

Seen one at LFS. That thing really moves the water and is as quiet as a mouse. Kind of big around , but not too tall. Crystal clear water. They really like it.

Well, I would stay away from the AQUAEL, I tried calling their US office several times, and it just rings, no one ever answers.
I also sent an e-mail to both the US office and the world headquarters, and never got a response.
