Which is the best ? (Currents)

Ive got a 20gal. high, with a hot magnum canister filter on it going 24/7 with carbon in it... I was wondering if its better to have the powerhead pointing towards the surface or to have it pointing towards the bottom of the tank.. currently i have it pointing towards the bottom to circulate the entire water column and not just the top... any input would be great thanks

If I only had one powerhead, I would place it near the bottom of the tank pointed towards the surface.

It is the powerhead from the canister filter and it hangs from the top only, where should i point it if its hanging from the top ?

I don't know if there is a right answer - you want your water to be circulated in the entire tank, and you want good surface agitation.
Point it towards the top - and get a $12.00 minijet for tank circulation if you are concerned about inadequate water circulation.

Thx for the advice... I think ill pick up the minijet for my tank so i wont worry about them getting air lol
