which is the best off the shelf water???

what off the shelf water brand is good to use in my reef tank...or is it not recomended to purchase water from the local grocery store? zep-hills, culligan, store brand water?? what other alternatives could i use? i don't want to use tap water from my faucet.

If you don't want to invest in a RO/DI unit, ask your LFS if they will sell you some RO water.
I bring a 5 gallon spring water container in to my LFS and they fill it for $2.50. It's cheaper than buying spring water by the gallon and also much better for your tank. :happyfish

Walmart and some larger supermarkets have RO machines (bring your own jug to fill). Also Walmart sells "drinking water" in gallon jugs that is RO filtered. If you can't find RO/DI or RO water for sale, you'd be better off with distilled than spring water.

I used Walmart Distilled water ($.46 a gallon) for a while before I bought my RO/DI. Its not as good as RO/DI water but it was better than using tap water. Just be sure to test any off the shelf water before using.
