I am going to get retrofit lights and I already have moonlights.
Should I get a 150watt metal halide or a 96 watt T5 HO fixture. Seems they cost about the same. I want to be able to keep anythign I want in there. Its for a 20 gallon tank.

what 20 gallon are you speaking of? if it's a 20 long, a single halide wouldn't span the entire tank. you'll have shadows on either end.
On a 20 gallon I would think that t5 would be just fine but I am by no means any sort of expert on lights.
If you have the money though hqi's would be the safe way to go.
