Are the nicest for showpieces and contain the most critters, Fiji? Haitian? etc, I want Top Shelf! Thanx

all i have is fiji, cuz its the cheapest, the only other around here is from something island.... its like $8/lb..... i think fiji is good, but thats obviously cuz thats all i've had....im curious as to wat else i shoould look for too

My tank has Marshall Island, and Figi rock. By far the marshall island rock was the first to sprout different types of algae...all good. But my figi rock had many interesting shapes, and holes. All of it is thriving. The first picture shows figi rock, and the second picture shows marshall island that had halimeda algae growing on it. As you can see both are filled with corraline algae, so I'm not sure that the extra cost for marshall is really all its cracked up to be. However, I did get the halimeda. Pods love this stuff.

I have some tonga, bali, fiji and some that I aquacultured. I like the shape of some of my bali. It has a very honeycomb look to it. I also plate pieces that make great shelves. As far as what you get, I would say, they all have alot. They just have different flavors.

ANONOME! I think i gotta go with the Marshall Island rock I heard alot about it! It looks like it has the most stuf on it! Thanx!

I like the Marshall Island also, but don't count out the Figi....I bought it off of this site, they have quality live rock. Just a thought. :happyfish

ive got kaelini(sp?). it had a lot of cool little things on it, even some hitchhiker mushrooms, and it wasnt out of a show tank or anything.

If you want rock for show, then hand pick what looks best to you. If you want it for filtration then get light weight rock like figi or simular. IMO, Haitian or Carribean type is not as good, too heavy...hitchhickers depends on how well the rock has been collected, shipped, maintained, ect....up to the time you get it....and what you do with it too as far as cycleing, ect.
