Which macro lens for my Rebel xti slr?

I've asked this a couple times and not really got any response. But I would like to know which lens would be a good choice for my Canon Rebel XTI 8mp SLR. It came with an 18-55mm lens(I think that's the stock lens). But I just can get those super up close pics of my SPS's like I would like. Photography is a kinda new thing to me, but I'm learning. So what lens do I need to have to get those super macro shots. My tank is 18 in wide so the stuff in the back doesn't photograph too well. I just cant get that crisp clear shot of the tiny polyps. Heck even on some of the not so far away pics. I have a tripod, play with the manual settings and have a decent grasp on those. Also any cheap, but good, knock off brands would be good. I don't mind spending a couple more hundred, but 600 is is
Any help here?

if you search for diopeters on the big

[hr]
site you will find them. thats where i got them! get the sets of 3-4 of them, try them out and if they still aren't quite what you are looking for you aren't out much but if they are you have saved lots of money. they are basically $crew on magnifying glasses for lack of a better description. they will fit on the end of your 55mm lense. i have a canon rebel xt with sigma lenses so they will also work for yours.

Thank you apaloosa, I'm looking now. SWEET pics BTW. I think my lense is a 58mm, but I dunno. It's the stock 18mm-55mm that came with it. But I got a 55mm polarized filter and it was too small. It says on the lense 58mm. Would this be the type I need to get? Also, the first horse I ever rode was an apaloosa. His name was BOO, because his spots spelled it out on his left rear honch.
Great horse.

your welcome! mine is an 18-55 lense as well and they fit fine, so i would bet they would work on yours too. its worth a try! I love my app, hes such a sweet guy, i think its a great breed. thats funny about his name! my guy doesn't have anything cool like that except for the big random splotch on the side of his head.

I got the set of 4 diopters coming, along with a spare battery, and a UV filter. It stated on they're storefront that you use the 58mm in order to size the accesories.
Yeah we were riding on a trail ride when I was in jr. high. A big group of us kids. We were in a pasture and the were letting us trott around. Playing trot tag. Well old BOO decided he didnt like the direction I was going, and the filly on the other side of the field looked more promising.
So he made a U turn and headed her way, leaving me on the grass to come see his new gal.
Those a very intelligent horses from what I understand. And beautiful too. Is that you and yours in the avatar? Pretty horse.
