all the puffers i have purchased from SWF have died within a week. I always purchased the small puffer because it was cheaper, but i can never get them to eat no matter what i feed them. When i have purchased them from my LFS, they eat instantly, so im wondering if i get the larger porc from swf.com if it will eat and not starve and get stressed out like the last
my though process is the larger porc has been alive longer and eaten more and knows what is food and ok to eat
think id have better luck with the larger porc? if not, ill go to my lfs and get another small one, problem is, i pay for the price of a large on swf, but get a small one since the lfs charges much more

That is one of the disadvantages of buying online, you have no idea if it is eating in captivity. You can try a larger one, but may end up with the same results.

+1, if you have had luck getting them from your fish store, why not just get one from there so you can make sure it is eating and healthy..

ya unfortunately thats what i think ill have to do, shame i have to pay twice what i should, but its better than getting them and have them die, not fun at all, especially when they are so cool and cute

yeah the mark up in fish stores is a bummer but when it comes to buying a healthy fish with an appetite, the price doesn't seem that bad, and you will be able to keep an eye out until you find one you really like...
good luck and post pics if you get one!

they have a really cool huge porc in a giant tank, looks to be about 10+ inches, they wanted 90 for it i think, not bad for that size compared to the 50bucks for a 3" but at that price, makes me think something is wrong with it
