I have a 55 reef and a 90 fowlr and I would like to try to just buy one, but I do have an ick problem with both tanks when I add new fish, so I was thinking on maybe using one for like a month at a time on both tanks. Any suggestions

not going to treat ich.

but imo get one and move it.(a 100gal set up)
If the 2 tanks are one water sys get one for a 200gal set up.
If you set up the sys to be a one water sys use a sume on one of them to tie the sys and one for a QA tank and only use it on the qa tank.

It is not going to treat ick! I get a bigger tank and compine them. I have almost $1,000 worth of U.V filters havnet used them but when I set up my 120 i am thinking about it.If you want to get rid of ick use ick remover,Reef Safe, I am trying to think of this one that I used. Remover the ick and other problems. Hope that helps.

if you have an ick problem when adding new fish, then just get a qt. its a good thing to have that too many people decide to skip on. also, ive heard that a uv setrilizer can do more harm than good on a reef, i forgot why, but someone here will probably say it.

They kill beneficial micro-organism.

You can use a cleaner shrimp to get rid of ick. Personally, I would avoid using a UV light as it will kill the benificial bacteria in the tank.
