White Algae? Help!

Had my 36g tank up and goin now for about 2 months,
After some bad luck (couple of deaths) and my power compact dropping off the tank and shattering all bulbs, (now using my strip light until new bulbs arrive -approx 40 watts)
I am beginning to see white buildups on the live rock, what could this be or be from? :scared:
Granted i am having normal algae blooms on a regular basis (nothing out of control) .....
All water parameters are good at this point in time, but i did try calcium supplement once or twice minorly as recommended by my LFS (even though its fish only) .......

Yes, but if you are adding calcium you must be testing calcium, alkalinity (and pH) regularly. Without doing this, you could be altering tank chemistry such that you start getting precipitation of calcium. So if you are not testing alkalinity and calcium, do not ADD anything. Get test kits and check those first.
But to know more specifically about what is going on (eg is it die off of coralline algae?) we would need a picture.

For sure you need test kit to monitor my guess would be you are have die off on your LR from the problem you have incured with light and such I wouldn't worry to much but would get the test kits and the new lighting
