White Blister on Regal

hey all. i have a regal tang which has been in a q-tank by himself for a little over 4 weeks now. he got ick the first week so i dropped the salinity down to 1.009 and the ick was cleared up after a week or so. the salinity has been at this level for about 3+ weeks. this weekend (late friday or early saturday) i noticed a white blister like thing forming on his face between the eye and the mouth. i really do not know what it is and the good ol' folks at the lfs were not too sure either. anyone have any ideas on what it might be and how to help cure it. thanks

Is it a "blister" or is it actually a faded area on the surface of the skin? Look closely to see if it is a wound or simply a "bald" area.

beth, it looks like a blister. it is definitely raised from the skin or scales rather. it has gotten a little bigger over the last two days.

Are you keeping an eye on your water specs? Namely ph. Also it may be the beginning of hlle although that is not usually raised. A partial water change might help.

I was thinking HLLE which is why I was asking to be specific about whether it was a sore or discolored skin. It does not sound like HLLE.
I had a fish that had a sore like you describe too. He lasted quiet a long time, and, at some point, the sore actually diminished. Ultimately, the sore got worse, however, and the fish become listless, stopped eating and then wasted away. I tried treating with antibotics, but this did not effect it. I assumed it was an ulcerated tumor, which I know of no cure. Lets see if TB gets on and can give us some advise here.

thanks everyone for your advice. when i got home from work yesterday, it was gone. i cant tell if there is a small black dot there now where the blister was. he has been acting normal so i will keep my eye on him to see if anything changes.
