white cottony stuff on my LR

i came home from work tonight and noticed some white cottony stuff on my new LR. the last thing i added was pro buffer dkh. what is this stuff?

Thats ODD....
I once got a growth of some kind of sponge, it was white in color, but took more than a day. It grew over months... anyone else know??
WHat are the rest of your water perameters?

Looks like sponge to me.

After thinking, I would agree that it may be something ON THAT PIECE of rock forming... sponge etc...
Otherwise the rest of the rock in the tank would have been effected. Not just A LOT of something on ONE rock.
How's it doing now? It's been a couple days.

the cottony stuff had gone down a bit, i dont know if it is from my LMB eating it or not. my lfs said its how the featherdusters/x-mas tree worms reproduce. the thing that i have been thinking about too is what KimKissyFish had said, about it being only on that particular piece of lr. time will tell...
