white crab

my emerld crab has turned white any one no why

It may molt soon. Hand feed him, if you can, to get him pumped full of good eats for the rough time ahead.

Are you sure its an Emerald crab? A picture would really help. Some of the porcelain crabs are white.

maybe it was a white crab that had algae on its shell.
maybe it recently molted and is now showing its true color (white)....
maybe?
