white hair growing under rock

can anyone id this, Its growing under my rock.Dont know if its some sort of sponge.it has a creeping effect and is spreading, any ideas would be helpful, so I know whether or not to remove it.

I don't know the name, but it is a type of sponge, I have some in my tank aswell.
