White hand, please help ID

Just bought a galaxia yesterday and on the rock are what looks like some type of white tube worm that continually reaches its white "hand" out (consisting of curly white fingers) of its tube/hole and pulls back in over and over again. The holes are an 1/8 inch, when extended the "hand" is 3/8 inch. In sum,the "hand" sort of looks like curly-que white fingernails that reach out and than grasp as they pull back in. I'm hoping that this isn't something I need to be concerned about but some help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like they could be tubeworms or featherdusters, these are harmless and quite pretty when they mature. Hope this helps. Later Lisa

doesnt sound like anything to be concerned about. you will notice more and more of these type of critters as you go along. they are perfectly normal to get on LR.

Sammy it is exactly like the picture you posted. Is that a barnacle?
