white haze on glass

I've gotten this white haze or something on the glass of my aquarium. I can't rub it off with the algae scraper. Does anyone know what this might be and how to get rid of it? It's very annoying!

I got this white haze on my tank after I added some aragonite sand. At first it kind of looked like condensation. It would not scrub off with an algae scrubber. I ended up having to use a credit card and a razor blade to get it off.

You know....now that you mention it I didn't have this problem before I switched to southdown sand. My tank was pretty cloudy for a couple of days so I bet it has something to do with the aragonite dust somehow bonding to the glass of the aquarium.

yup, i too got it from the sand I added. i got it off with a razor blade and it was still tough to get off. get a little plastic razor blade holder/scraper thing from home depot or something. the thing is tool used to scrape paint off of windows, but obvisously works well for this job too. HTH
