I have a little yellow tang in a qt now. by his eyes he has 2 white head zit looking things. I think it is ick but not sure I have started hypo on the qt. is this a good Idea or not? I have seen this before with a bursa I used to have it looks like zits not like salt covering like I have read about ick. Is this ick you think or not? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thank you for your time

p.s. I am also feeding him foods soaked in garlic, to help with his immune system.

If I had to guess it sounds very much like ick and I think your taking the right action. Good luck with your tang. If you caught it quick enough(it sounds like you did) he should be ok.

I have the exact same thing on my puffer. I don't think its ick because its just in one region and goes nowhere else. I looked all around on the internet and found nothing. He's had it for 3 weeks. I don't have a qt as of yet and wonder if it would be of any use with my puffers condition. I have a powder blue and an angel in my tank too and they have absolutely no signs of ick. Wonder if it could be a virus or something. Anyone else know anything?

It could just be a parasite or 2.
Feed the fish with garlic soaked food.

Ick doesn't necessarily start on the whole fish body at once. When I first got my bicolor angel it developed Ick on his dorsal fin only. It would come and go throught the day. This went on for over a week until one day I woke up and found him and a clown covered in Ick! A short stay in my QT tanks cleared things up and everyone was happy after that :D
Cheers,
