I am in the process of cycling a new tank, I am on week 5. I recently passed through a diatom bloom but now I seem to be entering a new phase.
The rocks look like they have a coating of dust on them. Like thick dust on a shelf (fuzzy). the glass has small rice shaped specs all over it. I looked at the "specks" with a magnifying glass and they are small protozoan? They swim, have long bodies with legs and all.
I do not have fish in my tank. I started the cycle with some shrimp. What could this be or mean? I don't even want to put my hand in the tank, till I know what they are.
I am ready to do what it takes to make sure everything is right, before I add fish.
