White patches?

Today I noticed white patches on my fish. It doesnt look like ich, it is not grainy. Just looks like faded skin in very small circles on the fish's skin. It's only when the lights first go on in the morning. Then when the fishs color comes back like normal after being faded at night the patches go away. What could this be?

Sounds normal to me. Fish go to sleep when lights are out, just like we do , and kinda needs a bit of time to be their usual colorful selves after the wakeup call.

Is it normal for them to get a polka dot type fade to them?

IMO, if the fish have faded blotches only when the tank light just comes on, but, once the fish are up and about, they look fine, eat fine, swim fine and color is normal, then what you are describing is normal.

ok thanks. My fish is a pig so I dont think there is anything out of the norm.
