White spots on inverts

I have a choc. chip star that has a white "chalky" like stuff on it, it's had this for a month or so. Now I notice my pink sea cuke has a white spot (about 1/8 inch) next to his oral openng. My water quality seems to be o.k. NH3,NO2,NO3 are all zero. Temp is 78.5. pH is 8.2. Alk is "normal". I've been adding an iodine supplement on a weekly basis. I don't give these guys any special feedings. I feed the tank 2 times/day ... a ground up mixture of freeze dried mysid shrimp, hikari marine A, and omega one flakes. All this is ground up together and ends up from powder to small chunks in size. I soak the mixture for a mnute or so and then feed it with a "baster". I also have fish, crabs, and shrimp in the tank and I let everyone battle it out at feeding time. I don't know if this white stuff could be related to nutrition or maybe a fungus growth?? Any adivice would be greatly appreciated !!!! Thanks !!!

I would defintiely need to see a picture. What is your specific gravity? How long have you had these animals? Do you feed the chocolate chip anything else? They need meatier things.
Are you testing for iodine? Because I would be real wary of adding any unless you are testing for it.

Your specific gravity, IMO, is qutie low for invertebrates. Do you measure with a refractometer or hydrometer? How long have you had them? If less than a month, I am concerned for acclimation shock. Also true if you did any major water changes recently but have had them longer.
