Just wondering if anyone could tell me....on one of my leathers, a small section of an edge is white and the little polyps that come out are gone. is this part dead? is this the beginning of a catastrophe? Thanks for your help.

My leathers do that from time to time. What you may see in the next day or so is a film develop over the coral. Then you'll see the film slough off and the polyps re-extend. From what I understand this is how many soft corals clean themselves and grow. I have a cabbage that has white on the edges sometimes but color returns. I'm not sure what that is about.
Hopefully someone else can add some more info on the white edges.
Good Luck!

yep, my devil's hand does that. i wouldn't sweat it! i've even tried once to take my turkey baster and blow water on the leather to try and remove it, didn't work all that well. it does it's own thing and returns back to normal. I did this because it was at that stage for like 10 days and I was getting worried like you are.
good luck!
