white tubes

i have noticed some white tube things coming out of my rock. They are hollow white tubes and it looks like something might be makeing them or something. Wish I sould get a pic but no camera. Can any one give me info from this? They are not alive, I think.

how long have you had the rock? if it is fairly new and you have not had a chance to see yet, ithey could possibly be cluster dusters(a small variation of feather duster). If you had the rock for a while, you probably would have noticed the feathers by now.
If not, a littel more detail could help. size, length and width, color(are they solid white or translucent) and so on.

They are not dusters. They are tubes that are white transparent tubes. they are hallow and have little projections off the sides of them. The look like something may live in them or something. That is about all I can say about them.
