Whitish Sponge?

I have just started to notice lately that alot of my rock in my refuge is getting clearish white sponge on them. I didnt buy any types of sponge and it isnt dead sponge. Also in my main tank, my caves are getting spnge in them too. Is that white and clear sponge beneficial to your system?

Many encrusting sponges will start growing in darker shaded areas of LR. Its normal and a sign IMO of a healthy tank.

It sounds like a q tip sponge. Check them out on the hitchiker thread on the new hobbyist forum.

Its not a Q-tip sponge, but it is like the first couple of sponge pictures, so if it means that its a healthy tank than good thing for me.
