The tang police is an unofficial, voluntary, special task unit specializing in the ability to yell at people who house tangs in unproper conditions and who give healthy advice on how to treat your spiky tailed friends.

Are there any other type of police

I, personally, have not see any other police. But I've only been on this forum for a couple of months.
I think the big thing with the Tang Police is that Tangs are colorful and are easily available, so people tend to buy them as 2-3" fish, and put them into tanks that really are not suitable for the size to which Tangs can grow. So, the TP has become the unofficial "look-out" arm of the forum, and is quick to warn you, with a sturdy :nope: if you ask about putting a Tang in anything smaller than a 90G (and even that will be too small for some tangs).

The Mandarin Police......:D
It also is an unofficial, voluntary, special task force, specializing in the ability to make sure that ALL mandarins are housed properly with the necessary items to sustain their beautiful existance. :happyfish

I think there is also the Tap Water Police. They had a big bust a while back against the "plant" family mob. Since then there havn't been any high profile cases.

OMG, how could I forget the Tap water police. I think we need to hear from them. There are several of them undercover too.
Anyone with the Tap Water Police out there? I think their moto is "Just Say No To Tap Water". :)

I knew you were, but I didn't want to blow your cover. Figured you were still actively involved. :)
S.W.A.T.... Good one, I like that. Lets see how many special agents you get.

My lfs told me I could have 2 juv tangs in a 30 gal! I was only hoping for 1 - a blue hippo. They had a little 2-3 inch one and I was thinking of getting one that size when I'm ready. And then moving to a bigger tank later as it grows since I want a bigger tank anyway. What do you think?

Hippo Tangs really need a 6 - 8 foot tank minimum. Even as a 3" fish they will become stressed is they can't "open up the throttle" once in a while.
Zebramosa Tangs seem to fare well in 4' tank for a long time. Even as much as 10 years. Eventually though, even the smallest of tanks (the Kole) do better in longer tanks.
I'm not saying they can't thrive in a 4' tank, just that they are less likely to.
Hippo in a 30?? Please wait until you have a 6' tank.

I did read a lot of pooping on the poop thread came from tangs.
Well, I hate to make any creature suffer. q:nope:
I wish they hadn't told me that, I might have waited longer til I could afford a bigger tank. Is a 6 foot a 55 gallon or 100 gallon? I really love the blue hippo/regal tang. It's my favorite. That really sucks.:sleepy:

Actually, lfs even wanted to sell me a 20 high and put a tang in it! I just decided to get a 30 after reading here that would be a good minimum swf tank period! I might have to get a bigger tank for Christmas for myself. I will get clownfish in the meantime for my 20 month old "Meemo" fan.

"Identify a crime" lol
There are sooooooooooo many crimes that are committed. Not intentionally, but through lack of knowledge.
Thank goodness for this forum!
One less crime, one less victim. :D
