Who Done It (Revised)

As some of you may remember, someone or something ate half the tail off my Royal Gramma in two days (after adding a Purple Tang and LR)... Some of you suggested that I may have an unwanted guest (like a mantis shrimp or something)... It's been 3 days now and no one else has ratty fins or tails. I checked the LR where the RG hung out... what I found was a clam.. with seaweed or something gripped in it's closed jaws.
Could my Gramma have been eaten by a clam? (She could not swim and died. <img src="graemlins//dead.gif" border="0" alt="[dead]" />

YUP! That clam looked like a piece of rock to the Gramma and keeping close to the rock for safety at night it got caught a bit too close.
Not the clams fault - he was just hanging there.

i am sure it is a possibilty, but i would not rule out any of the other possibilities before being able to confirm them, mantis shrimp, can hide for a year, or so before you even spot them, and as for rock crabs, they may never be noticed, ever, but still may be a problem, all i'm saying, is still keep an eye out, they are very good hiders, and as isaid before, they normally only affect the fish that hide in or near the rock or bottom, where they can get them, although you very well may not have any(the odds of gettin gthem are not as good as avoiding them, so this is a comfort), i am always on the look out, just in case, because i definitely don't want any myself
