Who got wood?

I am just wondering about the type of wood I should use for a stand and canopy? Any suggestions on any aspect of the canopy and stand would be great! Also should I use any thing to protect the wood from water? I plan on painting or staining them black, any suggestions there? ALL TIPS APPRECIATED!

Mine are made out of pine. You can really use whatever you want but I think if your going to paint it use pine. Oak or any other nice looking wood if your going to stain it.

If you are going to paint it, try using marine grade plywood.
