Lerch,
I have had one for several years, and it is doing well. You should take in to consideration that the fleshy ones are the easiest to keep. The yellow and red ones from what I have heard are not as easy.
When I bought my first one, it did not look to healthy, it had several bare spots on the "branches", but I thought I would give it a try anyways. (it was the best one that this LFS had and is pictured below.)
A few weeks later, it had completely filled in. I purchased another one last year, and it looked healthy, and then developed some kind of rot, I thought I would loose it, but it is finally starting to come back where the flesh rotted off. Another few weeks, and it will be completely back to normal.
They are filter feeders, occasionally I add Kent's phytoplex and Reef Solution. I just placed mine on the bottom of the tank. They like a moderate current, and when happy, the polyps will be fully extended. The one in the picture below was half the size when I bought it. It was kept under 2 40W fluorescent bulbs, 1 triton, 1 actinic.
