i have never used a skimmer and this one was used so no directions

is the 3100 hooked up the skimmer also? Sounds like to much flow if your getting straight water in the riser tube.

There should only be 1 pump feeding it water and 1 pump feeding it air, thats it. Do you have the 3100 setup to pump the water out of the skimmer?

Can you get a pic of it? I'm sure its a recirculting skimmer, but though you did a great job with paint there, it's hard to tell what's what exactly

its a turboflotor but I could swear there should be a seperate port for the feed pump. I've never seen the feed pump T'd into the recirculating pump plumbing like that. the large grey rio looking pump is the feed pump and the recircularion pump should be some model of ocean runner needle wheel pump if its the correct pump. anyhow you are definately filling up with water. I assume its not on in the pics or its not getting air pulled in from the air intake. you really shouldn't need an airpump, the recirculation water pump will draw sufficient air in on its own, at least if its the pump it came with or equivalent the reaction chamber and cup should look something like below when working correctly. you have to lower the water level so that foam reaches the collection cup but water doesn't. may take a short break in period if its new to begin to work.
