I LOOOOVVEE camping!!! I just went with the rugrats for 4 days. Man, I coulda stayed for-ever. Camping is for some, not for others... I was just curious, if you love camping too. I like the kinda camping with a bath house, and water on sight. I don't think I can do the -on the side of a mountain thing-. But boy, I had a good time!!!:jumping: :jumping:

I had an experience with a pack of havalinas last time I went camping in the Davis Mountains. We emptied out our tent throwing stuff at them. It ruled!

I don't get it...
Why would a person work hard all year, just so they can take a week off and pretend they're homeless...? :notsure:
I mean what is so cool about sleeping on rocks and eating cold hot dogs in the rain...?
And mosquitoes...forget about it... :nope:

That's got to be one of my all time fav's... "Good thing they were drunk or...", I'm thinking that if they weren't drunk, they might not have flipped it, or maybe they woulda remembered their seatbelt!! But really, I hope they're OK, and most importantly, did they remember it?? 'Cause that sounds like a fun story to tell, it would suck if they forgot the whole thing.

I was telling my hubby how I think it's neat that we (as a society) have technologised ourselves this far, then we revert back to the 1800's and call it a vacation!!
You either love it or ya hate it!!

What a thread, I am leaving work early in about 45 minutes to go pick up a new camper. We are currently tent campers and have upgraded to a pop up camper.
Going this weekend.

Camping is great! Love the fact that you don't have phones or anything else to bother you. The best camping is with a few friends, a few drinks, a lake/river, and good times. The absolute best is sitting in front of the fire at night with a beer and just talking about whatever. Its nice to have a bathroom but not a must, who needs showers?

I also LOVE camping. We go to a great spot with friends, and it's like setting up your own little village. We do take a TV/DVD player, air mattress with Sterns and Foster pillow tops, etc. but having a back that doesn't hurt afterwards doesn't lessen the "experience".:D We usually rope about 8 canoes together and roll down the river partying...:jumping:
We meet tons of other campers and have a great time. :) I'm not a "camp on the top of a mountain and eat twigs when the food runs out" type of camper.:D

Hey Tizzo, Have you ever been to Devil's Fork State Park? It is georgeous. If you have a boat you can go out on Lake Jocassee, there are waterfalls dumping into the lake. Each campsite has power, water, grill. There are showers and a laundry in each circle in the camping area.

I just saw this thread. I like it about as much as snakes..

My idea of roughing it is if there isn't daily maid service.

I enjoy camping, but after a few days I would kill for a shower. We go to a place that is just open forest, so no running water, no potty's, no showers. It would be the best if shower's were not far. The cool part is we always take our quads (4-wheelers) and go on all day rides.
Bradttu, your avaitor makes me laugh everytime I see it, I love it!
