Who runs with no lid?

Just curious as i keep my glass lid on and have tabs on my nova extreme lid for air movement. i was worried about stuff getting into the water and fish jumping out. if the lights are a inch away from the glass i don't think the glass would reduce the spectrum of the lighting. 96watt T5 on a 20gal H. or would it?

I`ve never had a top on my tank. Never had any problems. My mh`s 16 inches from water.

I have no lid. I've had a couple of carpet surfers though.

no lids here on any of my personal tanks. However I am going to add egg crate to the tops of the tanks at my store...

no lid on my 29 but im going to use black eggcrate on my 75

okay, so am i not getting a full spectrum with a glass lid then? also if i remove the glass lid and put the lighting on the stands it comes with doesn't that make you decrease some of the intensity?
