Who Uses SCWD Wavemaker ??

Im thinking about geting one so I would like to know if they are noisy, reliable and how often they switch from side to side.
I have a spare 900 gph and a 500 gph submersible and would run it from my sump. My over flows would handle the extra flow with know problem.

I just installed one last week on my 120g reef. So far so good. Totally quiet, no noise at all. I have a mag7 on mine and it switches about every 10 seconds.

I run one on my fuge/sump return. Mine changes about every 6-7 seconds. The more flow going through it the faster it changes. The less flow the longer it takes to switch. They are not noisy.

this really cuts down on your GPH, so your mag 7 isnt going to be the same. If your GPH is marginable you may consider increasing to a mag 9

Figure a 30% flow loss with a SCWD and "up-size" pump to accomidate or retain current flow...

So if I use a mag 9.5 from the sump w/ around 2 ft. of 3/4 ID tubing to the scwd and the about 4 ft to ech return useing 3/4 tubing and return U tubes at each side of the tank then I should expect about 600 or so gph out of each. And it will switch around every 5 to 8 seconds? If this is about right then I like it.

Yea I have a mag7 on mine, I think a mag9.5 would have been better. The SCWD definatley does cut down on flow! Besides the 9.5 pump is much less likely to leak due to its better front cover design. I had to buy another mag7 after I was unable to get my first brand new mag7 to stop leaking.

Done.
Hooked it up this morning to the Mag 9.5.
I was suprised how small it was and that the holes were only 3/8 ID. I drilled them out to 9/16 so Im geting more flow thru it I quess. Its switching about every 5 seconds. So far so good.
