I've gone diving in Hood Canal several times. Octopus like that are very common there and supposedly they grow larger there than anywhere else. I have seen a couple that could grab a person if they wanted to. They are very curious animals and will come right up and feel you with their legs if they aren't spooked.

I'm not really surprised. Octs are among the most intelligent creatures in the ocean and everyone knows what happens when you are smart. You move up the latter on the food chain. Octs will pretty much eat every and anything.
